Hetzer gunsight guard

I recently acquired a model hetzer made by King and Country. There is no U shaped guard over the portal for the gunsight, which I have see in all pictures of Hetzers. Was this an oversight on the model builders or were the Hetzers produced without a guard for the gun sight?

Please let me know if you can add to my knowledge.
