        Theo,

Under magnification, it looks like damage to the grill.

            Opel Blitz

Hi Theodor, the emblem on this Opel Blitz typ 5200 known as the 1-ton Blitz , has the normall emblem, the letter BLITZ this emblem was used on the early types from the Opel Blitz.
Later came the emblem as a Bliz ( Lightning ) with the letter OPEL BLITZ.
For you a photo from a other 1 tonner, you can see the name better

              Opel Blitz

Hi Hauffman , The Blitz on the photo is indeed the 1 tonner typ 5200 built from 1938-1940 with the engine from the Opel Olympia 1,5 liter , 37 Bhp.
This type was not specific built for the wehrmacht, the 1,5 , 1,75 , 2 and 2,5 tons Opel trucks introduced Adam Opel KG in the year 1927.
From the year 1938 was the 1,5 ton Opel Blitz introduced with the new 2,5 litre engine with 55 bhp. that also was used in the Opel Super-6 and the Kapitän,
              original called Typ 2,5-32.
This type was used by the wehrmacht in only 5000 cars, the production was middle 1942 closed after Reichsmarchall Hermann Göring transpose the Shell-Plann .
For you two photos of the 1,5 ton Opel Blitz.
