Anyone seen a flask like this before? Not my exact collector interest, but I think it is kind of nice.

Peter, greetings from Atlanta. I saw one very similar to yours at the Kane County Antique Show in the early 1990's. Pete Trovato and I both looked at it carefully and we both felt it was probably real as it was very similar to the relatively common WW1 flasks but we both passed as we "assumed" (perhaps incorrectly so) that WW2 versions didn't exist because we had never seen or even heard of them.

Thanks for commenting. Hope u are well. I think they fell out of favor during the 3rd Reich period, but apparently did exist. I am not sure if I have it on the correct forum even though it is panzer related.

Hey Peter,
I am well (for an old man) and trust you are also. I agree that they did exist but were not nearly as popular as they were in the Imperial era. While it's been 20 years or so since I saw that one at Kane County, my recollection is that yours is virtually identical to that one in every respect......nice piece.
