They are going to make the tigerpanzer 1 1942 to 1945 in the original size with new age techique . The tank will not have no weapons only dummies, the tiger will look like the original from henschel the inside will be completed with modern drive. The engine is a mercedes with 1000 hp. The ground drive is a automatic gearbox from zf, electronics and hydraulics come bosch and rexroth. It will weigh over 50 tons . The last update was thursday 27 september 2007.
This came from hmvf......... Does anyone know what is going on?? Are they going to build them or not.???

Also, Flugwerk DE produces exact copies of the FW 190 and 190 D. Very cool.

The warbird guys are something completely different from tank collectors... flying a "repro" plane is near to flying the real thing and their main point of interest is flying...
... the guy interested in tanks and equipped with well filled bank accounts are collectors. They preferre the real thing regardless how good a repro is made. Look at Wheatcroft or Littlefield...the money needed to rebuild the Panthers would be more then enough capital to build such a repro... but they put their efford in puzzling together a mostely original vehicle. A tracked vehicle looking like a tiger, build with modern drivetrain would be the dream of any reenactor. But most of them aren`t the guys with the filled accounts. If they deserve a tank they take a cheap basic vehicle, put in a hell lot of their time to fill the gap in their funds and try to build something looking like their dream...
So I do not wonder that there was no lineup of investors which could not wait to sink their money in such kind of big boys toy...

No, this Tiger replica is completely made by one man... no prototype for "mass production" . As far as I know it is completed and running meanwhile and the builder decided to sell it to a museum in the nuremberg region as he wan´ts to concentrate on the real thing... as I read about his connection to latvia he possibly hopes to aquire a jigsaw-puzzle tiger ?!

No, I´m not the one who really knows ... but I read around in some more information - platforms. And while doing this I stumbled over the above mentioned informations... other pictures etc then those on youtube are not known from the "kurlandtiger" (so the guy named his project).
