                  What I enjoyed the most about this museum is there where no fens or rope to keep visitors away from the Tanks. That is the reason I wanted to go there to look close and touch the tanks

                  I say it good for now and I hop you all enjoy these pictures from my trip to Saumur. I also want to mention that there is whole lot more to see there.

                            Man... Saumur is now a must see for me. The Patton museum in Kentucky USA didn't even have a Tiger I, I was disappointed, but they did have a Tiger II with the side cut away so you could see inside. Your photos are really great. Here's the King if you ever make it out that way....

                              I believe this is one of 2 Panthers which used to be sited in front of "Les Invalides" museum in Paris. These tanks were exposed to the elements for years and years and were simply rotting. The authorities finally recognised that they should be preserved and were transfered to the tank museum. Here is a photo of one of these taken back in 1974 (yes I was a little younger then!). Apologies for the poor quality, this is the scan of a paper photo.
