I'm glad to see other forum members have an interest in Oberstleutnant Karl Rossmann.

I own a couple of photos of him wearing a regular tunic w/RK. Unfortunately I do not have a scanner right now. I took some shots of them with my camera. I don't want to blemish the thread with the shoddy photography but if anyone would like to see them I can message you with the photos attached.

      Regards,

      Bryant

                ..

                Great thread!

I will admit this is the first time I've wandered into the Panzer forum and glad I did. The Hermann Goring Div./RGG are of great interest to me as a LW collector and glad to see Rossmann being mentioned.

The early shots in his LW career are also outstanding in particular seeing his progression in rank.

                Regards

                Jeremy

Found these while strolling the net. I would assume taken during the Spring retreat:

He was the last commander of the Pz Regiment of the HG division, and led the Regiment in the last successful counter-offensive of the war, the Battle of Bautzen, which lasted from April 21st to 4-26 1945, and almost resulted in the destruction of the 2nd Polish Army, which caused Koniev to have to detach units from his Berlin offensive to come to their rescue.

Correction--those pics had to be taken prior to February 1, 1945, as that is the date he was awarded the Oakleaves.

Here is a pic taken after Feb 1st:

Perhaps my father met him!!! He was studying medicine at 'el Clinico' in Barcelona by then.
