Large Deaths Head - Vehicles?

Dear All apparently this was a deaths head used on panzers/military vehicles. Now I've never seen one before either in pictures or on any vehicle - its about 5" by 5" and made from aluminium - I think! Whats it all about and is it genuine?

Looks like a cast copy of a Hussar busby skull.

Not for a tank.

I agree with Robin.

Never seen or heard of these being used on any vehicle.
