It's StuG from Santa Fe ship, recovered few years ago. Just a piece of junk...

May I also add that the Jagdpanther that Mike Gibb owns was if far worse a condition [a range wreck] before he began and complete his restoration project. He now has probably one of the finest Jagdpanthers in the world, show room condition if I dare say?

That StuG would make an ideal starting point for a restoration project in my opinion.

They were/are in much better condition. The Santa Fe Stugs, of which this is the worst one, are all restorable with a lot of effort as they are quite corroded. The engine and gearbox are write-offs IMO, the engine block might be salvageable but I doubt it.

Mike Gibb bought the best one but I doubt it's in running condition yet, last I heard they were still sourcing parts (the roof, commanders cupola and all lot of other things). 100k for that one, nope won't fly. You also have to consider that there are a load of Stugs and Pz IVs coming onto the market from Bulgaria, most in way better shape.

Stug III, the German assault gun in 1943 was transported on a vessel " Santa Fe ", which was undermined on the mine and sunk The assault gun is lifted from sea, and requires restoration. In such kind cleared from silts etc. it exists now. number R 1076, weight of -28 tons, engine - Maybah V-6, crew 3 men, the tower is covered with a canvas. In a complete set to it there is a machine gun, sight, spare parts to transmision, cover of the engine.
All documents are ready for export.

It looks like crap but could be restored as noted the engine etc. is dead, anything can be brought back from the dead with enough money and time.

Don't forget you will have to pay a 40% tariff for this thing even to leave the Ukraine. So if it does sell for 100,000 then they will pay 140,000 with the tariff to get it out of the Ukraine. I wish he would mention that on his listing.

well, I doubt this sale is real, because this same Stumgeschutz is now on display at Sapun Gora, Sevastopol, and is no more stored in the "ghetto". I'll try to find recent pictures of the vehicle.

It is just nice that there are a few hulks available for restoration.
I remember when I was serving in Germany from 72-75 I saw a German farmer plowing his field with a Hetzer (less the gun). I also saw a knocked out M10 hulk just resting in a field in the Black Forest region of Germany.

I will have to look and see what I have. I took hundreds of slides and frankly do not remember what I took pictures of. I was stationed in part of the Siegfried line area and worked around and got to explore many bunker sites as Germany was cleaning up the bunkers.
I lived in a small town of Vogelbach and I was told that the holes in the woods above the town were MG nests. Never was able to prove this one way or another.
