    Hello Guys,

Picked up this unmarked black woundbadge today at a militaria show,
It is unmarked for as far as I can tell, can anyone help me with a maker ? The badge has a very interesting shape catch !

    Interested to hear your opinions,

Nice badge Chris! I think it might be marked very faintly just above the catch.

Thanks Mats, I can't see the marking in hand, so I think it is unmarked.

Kevin is right. It's a typical catch for this maker.

Hi all. I do not think this is an unmarked 93. Never seen one unmarked. I'm sure this is what is known as a "Kugelscharnier". Don't ask me why this name but I have one in my collection. I am not able to post images on this forum or I would show yo the difference in the hardware set up. An example of this badge can be found in the GCA database under unmarked by unknown makers. So If anyone has access to their database you can post one here.
                Regards

"Kugelscharnier" means "ball hinge" but this badge don´t have a ball hinge

But with that said several makers from the Gablonz area are known to use the ball hinge (RSS is one) on their badges (not only wound badges) and as i recall it there are a couple of known WB makers from that area that are still not identified in regards of what type of Wound badges they produced. Those makers are known from WB packets.

AFAIK only RSS is known to use this type of catch though
                    Regards

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).
