    New Gold Wound Badge

Hello, I posted this in another area, but was told it'd do better here. This is my first WWII German medal/badge. I purchased it at a gun show with an Eastern Front Winter of 41/42 medal, both in their paper sleeves. I can't find any markings on the GWB, but the sleeve says Grossman & Co. I've been collecting militaria for some time now, but I'm just now getting into WWII German stuff, so I still have a good bit to learn. What should I be looking for? Any and all information is appreciated!

It looks like a nice tombac unmarked 30, thin pin. Maker Hauptmnzamt, Wien (Vienna Mint)

Could you post a few additional photos of the hinge and catch?

Where do you get the Hauptmnzamt from? I didn't see any makers marks anywhere. I'll post some more pictures when I get home. Thanks

Fair question. Even though a badge may be unmarked, it was still made by some firm / maker. And some badges can be attributed to a particular maker based upon the uniqueness of the front, as well as the hinge and catch assembly on the back.

In regards to your badge, the hinge looks correct; however additional side photos of that, as well as the catch will certainly help.

Here are some more pictures. I can get specific pictures upon request. It's got some weight to it, and it's nowhere near as shiny as the pictures show it. The picture where it's darkest is closer to how it truly looks.

If the badge and packet belong together, the wound badge would be stamped "11" below the catch, and, the front of the badge would have two extra berries on the wreath near the sword handles.
It still looks like an unmarked "30", (Hauptmunzamt, Wien) to me.

I also believe it to be an unmarked Hauptmunzamt Wien.

Unbelievable btw that sellers still put sticky pricetags on badges and medals
