    2 wound Badges

Did the maker with the number 65 make Wound Badges in Steel and Brass ?
I ask, because this one appears to be steel and I thought they were only in brass ? It is magnetic, am I mistaken ?
    Thanks Jack

Does this look like a good Wound Badge in gold and can I get some opinions on the box. The box is nicely covered, looks aged for real, and has a white cloth on the bottom. It is 58mm X 42mm X 13.3mm thick. The wound badge has raised letters L/63 and it looks good to me, but I have been wrong. I am trying to clean off my desk again. And finding all sorts of stuff. But as it works out I am not finding what I am looking for.
Thanks to all that reply, by the way, my wife has my camera. So all I can send is scans.

Please ignore the question on the Black Wound Badge, I am mixing makers in my head. I just remembered what I was thinking of.

Hi Jack - I believe that the GWB is a well know fake, as for the box I don't know, however GWB's would come in a black case and not a blur box - sorry man

            Hello Jack,

Your #65 Black Wound Badge is nice but, unfortunately, the L/63 Gold Wound Badge is a Johannes Floch Austrian fake.

            Best regards,
            Tom

I realized I was thinking of another maker on the 65. But the GWB sort of makes me sick, I did not think the box eas for a WB, but it is right for something???
I never specialized in anything but SA daggers, and unless you specialize, how could you guys know this, it is not that I am doubting you. but is it in your head. In a book, in your notes ????
              Thanks to all, Jack

                Hi Jack,

The fake L/14 & L/63 Gold WBs have been around since the late 80s and are quite well known now. Search the forum for a host of previous threads. One of those threads will also show scans from a French issue Militaria Magazine from the 90s where they were "officially" outed. These Floch WBs flooded the market at the same time his infamous fake EK1s and KVK1s.

                Regards
                Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
