Alot of firms are still present but the problem is that all the workers and leaders of the wartime are dead and beside the name nothing or less is left.
    Best regards, Andreas

      casting disc?

I remember someone posting a picture of a piece of equipment used in manufacturing wound badges.

It was for sale somewhere (ebay?) and the comment was someone should buy this so fakers can't use it. It was a large solid wheel with what looked like impressions of wound badges along the edge.

It was posted before the wound badge forum started. I remember it because it looked strange but you could see how it was supposed to work.

I will try and draw a picture of what it looked like..

      wish me luck

It's hard to identify unmarked pieces because until 1942/1943 all makers had to use the same unique master tool.
I've never heard this before The Deschler helmet profile is significantly different from any other makers and they were producing from the start, so was Deschler a 'special case'?

Anyway, look forward to seeing more of the book.

          Cheers,

          Neil

I think late 2009 would be the best answer ...

At the moment we are finishing the final Layout and some goodies but we still get new informations which should be included.
              Best regards, Andreas
