    Wound badge in gold L/14

    Hello guys,

I have this wound badge in gold, marked with L/14. The badge is not finished that well. The swastika is not completely in line and the dots above the helmet are not completed. Was this normal? I mean, that also ´less good´ items left the factory?
Please give me your opinions about this one.

    Regards,

    Grenadier

This type of L/14 massive wound badge tends to elicit some controversy. In my mind, I feel they are OK, when comparing this setup to other FO / Orth production badges. I posted a similar one a while back and it prompted some lively discussion.

Moderator......Please move this thread to the wound badge forum.

          Thanks.

The same type of setup used on an FO / Orth Infantry Assault Badge.

                  Hello Dennis,

Thanks for the reply. Maybe interesting to note. I purchased the L/14 WB in Gold from Helmut Weitze a while ago. In a other thread I noticed that you also bought a Weitze L/14 badge.

                  Regards,

As I mentioned, I feel good about some of these L/14 massive variations, especially when I can see setup similarities on other Orth production badges.

Your badge shows nice honest wear and is a cool GWB example.

To some extent I think the multitude of Floch FAKE L/14s has not helped people get all warm and fuzzy about this makers wound badges in general.

Here is another L/14 SWB I have. It was posted in the past, along with my L/14 Infantry Assault Badge to illustrate the setup similarities. You probably saw it if you were looking at past threads.

                    Congrats on your new badge.
