    Tiny gold pin

Picked this up the other day. In photo it's sitting atop a penny. The boxed in swaz has the most remarkable wire work. The guy that made this was a true master jeweler. You almost have to look at it under magnification to appreciate the work. G May

          Hello Forum Members,
As you all probably are familiar with the swastika
as a symbol used by many cultures, East and West
before and after the Third Reich, I will not go into
          that.

From my own studies, I would guess this is a Western
Trinket of outstanding workmanship, as mentioned above,
from the turn of the 20th Century, Victorian in design.

Many Victorian Ladies between the 1890s-1920's wore
these charms or had them embroidered, much like one
would use 4 Leaf Clovers today. Even the Diary of the
Last Tsar of Russia's Wife, Alexandra, is bedecked with
          the swastika.

Of course after the 1920's our "friends" in the NSDAP had
a new agenda for this little symbol, of which I believe it
will never be able to escape from in history.

          Neat Piece.

The "14K" means it was probably US or Canadian made. Europe uses a percentage system for marking gold (.750, etc), and UK gold is also different.
