Life Saving Medal. Opinions please?

Not sure whether this is in the right Forum. Could you give me your opinions on this medal. I understand there were two types, no makers marks as far as I can see. Could it be private purchase? Is it real? I'd be glad of any information.

I own one of each of the two types as well as a few copies for reference. I am very sorry to say that yours matches one of the copies I have... Again, sorry to bear bad news...
