    Austrian Party Armband

Years ago, a vet had a small group of these armbands that were gotten in Austria, immediately after the war. I have always believed that these were the early armbands worn during the 'entry into Austria by the Germans, in 1938. I have only seen armbands with the MIT HITLER in the military museum in Vienna. It is one of my favorite armbands, and wonder if anyone has seen any or has photos of them in use.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

    Bob,
With the color combination and the wording, I would bet that they might have been worn by election staff and 'pro-union with Germany' individuals during the time before and during the Anschluß election.
    Neat piece!
