Hi Laurence, the Luftwaffe stick pin looks very suspect to me as the detail is poor.

The "DAK" pin is a fantasy item and dates from the 1970's which would fit the timeframe of when you bought many of your items. I too remember these being for sale.

          Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Adrian, I think from looking at it that the tip of the head is broken off the luft 1

I agree with Adrian. That Luftwaffe Civil pin is not so good. I compare with some other dealers' photos. Even yours is cropped the eagle's head but the over wings and body scale is wrong. The pairs of eagle wings should be much longer.

              Cheers

Hi Bryan. Thank you for that information . It's amazing the lenghts people will go to making forgeries! I can sort of understand the EK,s and breast eagles, SS, and other big stuff, I would think it would be harder to make something that small? To bad they could not put the same effort in finding REAL stuff so we could buy them. Although I realize this is a finite market, with the suppl gettting tighter every year. Anyways once again Thank you.

PS could you post a real pic here for my future reference or if you want PM it to me? Thanks again

i agree with the other opinions, the Luftwaffen-Eagle looks vers suspicous. Here is mine to compare:

                    best,

Hi Laurence, I can post for you but just the dealer's pictures only. They are similar to the examples which posted by Gerd. I will post them later when I get back home.

                          Cheers

                              Hi Laurence

To ensure you are in the right track with this kind of Luftwaffe Civil Pin. I will post the similar style (cutout swastika) to you. All the following photos are captured from Mr. Detlev Niemann's online shop and already sold to other lucky collectors. They are NOT in my collection.

Even the photos are not in the best quality and angle, but you can clear see how details they are and how nice they are. Also you will see that they are a bit different in the eagle flying style.

First one is a golden example.

Second one is golden again. It is the beautiful one I want to have but it went to another nice family.

Last one is a silver example

Hope they can help. Thanks Detlev and thanks the current owners of the above presented pins.

                              Cheers
