Is this a Gold SA Sports Badge?

Hi,
is this rge gold type or just a bronze. It has a high number I know some say Gold ones have low issue numbers. I showed it to another collector and he thought it was a silver issue?. I bought it as a Gold, theres some Gold wash to the reverse. Anyhow have a look and tell me what you think.

IMO this is a bronze washed version.....Gold ones (unless latewar) normally had a "high gilt" finish....and being numbered this one isn't a wartime example.
Gold ones are actually very scarce...as I'm sure you already know.

Thanks I suspected as much. I actually got this off Estand now I know why no-one else grabbed it as plenty had looked at it. I guess because no-one had questioned its originality as a gold I thought it a good one. More fool me.

Yes, I agree that this is the Bronze Grade of a 2nd Issue SA Sport Badge, and as you can see, the finish is in very poor condition.

We all win some and we lose some -- but what makes losing worse is when we take someone at his word and it turns out badly. Perhaps you can get your money back...?
