S.A. Standarte "Ansbach" 1934.

Here is a brace of different coloured and yet single location descriptive 1934 badges, relating to an SA event.

Actually, I am not quite sure if the two badges are from the same or different tools. The detail in comparison is slightly confusing.

Do we have any information about S.A. Standarte "Ansbach"?

Nice and orig. badges and nice condition too , the collors can be a bit controversial but this might be just a thought worth looking on the badges and the diff collor strikes me to suggest that sometimes the german had their events over several days ( sometimes ) and the collor of your badge looks exatly like the special night acces badges used by the wehrmacht etc. especially for night use, i do see the same collor in other badges. It might be on a comercial use or diff makers but i do belive that in some events they both sold "day" badges and later "night" badges meny of these events was over meny hours and like the late night show whit light and loud music way over bedtime. well its only a suggestion and it could be very intresting to see if the badge diff. in dark or week light.

What an interesting response!

As we know and for SA meeting/event badges at least, the same exact design of badge is sometimes found in different coloured finishes. As mentioned to Erich, I have always thought that to the most part, this was purely a cosmetic and commercially driven practise. Again, you pay your money and you take your choice - of colour.

Anyway, the "glow in the dark" suggestion.

This afternoon, stuck my head under the duvet with both these badges in hand. My partner thought that I had finally gone ga ga. Unfortunately, the one which may have glowed a little, does not. What a pity, as it was (is) such an interesting suggestion.

Perhaps purely cosmetic Carsten?

I'm not sure of the reason for the color variation but had pretty much assumed the same reasoning as David. I've seen Gau and Kreistag tinnies that came in a multitude of colors not just one or two.

year david it might be of cosmetic or even pick a choise reason for the diff collors which is a very good reason too, as you can see on the pic below i got up to 4 diff collors on this particular badge and it might comes in more collors too, so they did make them in varius collors and in this case - make a choise pay the price. However i still wonder why the collor on your badge is the same collor as used on special tags for night use, well it can be fairly speculation on the issue here and it might have a reason or not, by time ill try digg a bit in this issue.
hmmm.... yes david we do have a serius freaky brainfailure ( acording to some generals ) we are collectors of old dirty iron well i think i heard it all troughout meny years now but i do belive my partner got use to me now.... i think..... and yet she still goes... on me when i make some very fast primal sounds mostly when i meet a shi....less fake, well it took me very very loong and hard time to make her a true "beliver" in my brainfailure so a friendly advice is nexttime your partner thinks your compleetly ga ga ( dont worry i do belive in you ) then tell her that she is crazy to even think so... and round it goes hehe- or tell her that you are making " a simple gymnastic exercise " well it did works a couple of times for me and last if shes gonna go deeper then you only have the 5 demt. left...... as the last bastion
well hopefully some of my advice might help you on this issue and plzzzzz dont use them all at the same time and never ever idmit your collecting old iron even when they try to "fixate" you then youll truely be lost in space well last and not forgotten, imm sorry my friend for making your partner in doubt on your very very strange behavior cheers my friend.
