        Blutorden

Looks good to me! This is the 2nd style, as you probably know. May I ask the price?

This one would have been awarded 24. October 1940, and there is a list of awardees, but not by number--it's an alphabetic list. Only the original winners (the first 1500) of the type 1 are known by number.
The known awardees are in the book 'Der Blutorden der NSDAP' by Klaus Patzwall. I don't believe it's still in print, though.
Even without a ribbon, that's a reasonable price.

I certainly agree with Erich about the originality, and about it being a good price. It looks very clean. Nice !

Now, as to identifying the individual recipient, since you would have the lst of the awardees on that date, it might be possible with some work. For example, anyone who was in the Party or SA or SS had personel files in which this award would presumably have been noted, most probably by number. So if you are willing to go through all of those files, it might pan out. That would be if the recipient was someone in an organization that kept files, such as the SS; and that file survived the war; and it contained paperwork about the award.

Not easy, I know, but it's something.

                thank you so much......

now i have bought the medal and you can imagine how happy i am. ....a real masterpiece.
the seller had some more badges for sale (nothing really interesting) and while looking at his medals and stuff i found an interesting ribbon.....IMO the ribbon belongs to the blood order and is genuine too. ..the ribbon is widish, deeply red ....with two white stripes on the left and right side...and feels very softly......will send some pictures tomorrow......

and best he gave me the ribbon for free !!!!
what do you think is the value of a blood order ribbon?

                  ribbon

Congratulations! That's a great addition to your collection. Blood Orders are still extremely underpriced in relation to their rarity and the relatively small number awarded.
If the ribbon is original, it's worth easily over $100.00--it also depends on the length.

Once again, I agree with Erich. I paid about $200 for a length of original Blood Order ribbon about 2 years ago.

Also, there is a company in England that sells reproductions of the cases for both versions of the Blood Order. You might want to consider such a case. It will protect the medal until you can get an original case. However, that is of course up to you.

Congratulations on a wonderful addition to your collection !

I also agree with Erich that these awards are well below their value at this point. I believe that someday we may find the list of recipients of the second pattern Blood Orders, and their value will rise dramaticaly if that happens.

meanwhile i compared my ribbon with others found on the web......
now i don`t think that it belongs to my blood order .

at the moment i can not take pictures but here is a picture (i found on the web) of a similiar looking ribbon. the only difference is that my stripes are white. any idea what kind of ribbon it is????
