    NSDAP lighter w/ badges? Help!

    Hey all,

I was offered this lighter from a nice lady at an estate sale, she has no idea where its from. It is dated 1944 on the bottom, and opens up (and still works!) as a functional lighter. My question is if this is actually a real piece produced by Germans, a German "trench art" piece or a allied put together.

    Any ideas?

IMO post war fantasy piece--probably from within the last 20 years or less. It couldn't have been made or sold during the III. Reich period as the national emblems were legally protected and were not permitted to be used without official sanction. This isn't the type or quality that would have been sanctioned!

I would pass on this piece, not real IMO.

A guy in Pennsylvania was making stuff like this for years , "out of his basement". everything he made , did not make a difference what it was , was out of brass. he's the one that started those fake SS fold up para. knives. met him years ago at a big antique show . jeff

Soon to appear on Snyders Treasures as one of Eva Braun's "personal" items.
