Hello folks. This is something I got in a much larger lot a few years ago, and have yet to see another example of this particular medallion. It's made entirely of porcelain with gilt highlights, and is roughly 2 inches or so in diameter. It's very highly detailed and on the reverse is a standing male figure atop a coiled serpent surrounded by "Macht mir die Ostmark stark". It's cased in a red leatherette type case. Anyone ever encounter another of these? Thanks!

What a beautiful porcelain cased medallion! I like these very much! The obverse includes an eagle quite similar to that which Josef Füess designed for the Blood Order, and to its right is the famous Festspielhaus -- Richard Wagner's great opera house in Bayreuth, the headquarters city of Gau Bayerische Ostmark. The medallion doesn't tell us when the rally (Treffen) took place so we can't be sure what the occasion was, but the inscription on the reverse states the intention to "Make Ostmark strong for me!" It's always great to have porcelain medallions intact, without any cracks or chips, and the gilt highlights on the obverse are beautiful. The fitted case is also an addition to the piece!
You're a fortunate collector to have such a fine piece in your collection!

Gau bayer ostmark porcelain cased table medallion
Milton, I bought 45 table medals several years back, one of those was included in the lot. I sold it in 2005 or so. It was not the same one as yours. The gold paint on it was not quite so bright.

Tables Medals
Hello, Yes I have pictures of some of them. I do not collect them and I have sold or traded most of them. I kept the large Bronze and the SA table medals.
But I have a few low resolution pictures of about 2/3 rds of the grouping. It was actually more than 45, I only remeber the count of the cased ones and some were not cased.
Might as well share the pictures with you.

Dolchmann...simply stunning! Some amazing pieces there, and cased nonetheless. really beautiful. The plaque top left first picture, looks like it says 3rd prize, is that a glass item? So many of them that are rarely seen i think. That RDH medallion you show in thread # 7 here is quite nice. LOL, all of them are. I see you have a silver honor plaque for horse breeding, do you know anything about what it was awarded for specifically?, and by chance do you have a bronze one? In any case beautiful awards.

I missed this thread before, but I also have one of those cased porcelain medallions. I believe it was probably for the 1936 Gautreffen, because of the almost identical design to the porcelain "tinnie" for the 1936 Gautreffen.

The northeastern part of the Oberpfalz region of Bavaria, partially what was then Gau Bay. Ostmark, was then and is now a porcelain manufacturing area.

Here's another. Any thoughts on the case? It has drove me nuts for years because it shows some honest age, but the white trim around the medallion's base glows. I know it's not an absolute condemnation, but it does make me scratch my head as I believe the case is completely original. If anybody can say otherwise please chime in. The flash makes the flocking and satin look blue, but they are actually more on the pale purple/violet side.
