I thought the man purposely dressed very simply. No jewelry on his uniforms.

Maybe Goring lost it in the apartment after being pummeled around the ears after the Battle of Britain.

                        Hello all:

I would have to agree Hitler was a stickler for not being flashy. From what I have read and researched he only wore the following on his military uniforms: "I'm doing this from memory so bear with me." WWI Iron Cross 2nd class "I think", Black or first grade Wound Badge WWI, His Golden Party Badge, and a gold tie pin of the Party eagle. On his civilian dress "suit" he wore his Golden Party Badge and again the stick pin of the party eagle in gold. Hitler was adamant about this subject, he always wanted to give the impression that he was just another average German. It was all part of the "Fuhrer mystic".
Now it is a very real possibility that it may have been "Fat Herman's" since he wanted or coveted just about every major award and rank avb. under the regime. But I am 99.99% sure that it probally didnot belong to Hitler, or if it did he never wore it.

                        Just my opinion:

I still have the 1960s Mohawk Arms offering that was obtained from the Winter "collection" and there were quite a few items that A.H. would never have worn in public. Over the years he was given tons of stuff as official and unofficial gifts (just imagine what he got each birthday), some of it quite valuable. In recent years there have been a couple of decently documented books that have attempted to quantify what was probably Hitler's very substantial monetary worth, most of it having come from sales of Mein Kampf, but quite a bit also derived from things like real estate and these kind of trinkets.

                            Hi all:

I would probally have to agree that this item very well could have been a gift to Hitler from someone either in the business world or from with in the party ranks. I know that the Patton's forces and the 101st AB found truck loads of stuff that Hitler owned. I am just wondering if it couldn't have been a private gift to say Eva Braun or perhaps another high ranking party members wife. After looking at it a while, it very well may have been a woman's piece of jewerly. Just a thought. The other thing to bear in mind is that there have been many things reported to be owned by one leader or another; a good example is a Mercedes staff car said to be owned by Goering, and later found out to be owned by Hitler. The same may be true of this piece too.
                            Again just my own thoughts.
