Hmmmm, trying to find out more about these, there's not much to be found ...

Can anyone recommend literature, perhaps ?

In Niemann's catalogs, he informs us that these are originals, but not honor badges for this Gau. He characterizes them as "tinnies" or day badges.

                  Gau Danzig

IMO this is an original badge but I haven't a clue why they made this version in zinc as opposed to the award version in silver.

I was offered a similar badge by Steve Wolfe several years ago.

Would love to see pictures. Maybe Stan or Gary would be willing to post some for you, Guy Winterhilfswerk.

Here is my Danzig badge in zinc. It is identical to the one originally posted. As indicated, these are not Gau Honor badges, but as Niemann stated in his catalogs, these are the day badges whcih are the basis of the honor badge. For whatever it is worth, Doehle in the 1942 4th edition, depicts these particular badges to show the Danzig honor badge. Opinions please.

                              Hi Guy,

The second image you post is the reverse of a Gau Ost Preussen not gau Danzig.
