      Hi Guys,
Yesterday I posted my 30 & 24 mm GPB for sale on E-Stand. Turns out that the 30 mm was a big fat ugly fake
I bought this 24.1 mm from Barry at E-Medals.
Here are pics of the 24.1 mm & COA from D Niemann. I would like your blessing before moving forward with the sale.
      Greatly appreciate the help!
      Happy 2010!

I agree that it looks good, and I am not trying to rain on your parade.
But can anyone explain the very deep engraving?

                  aff96,

The 24.1mm measurement doesn't bother me and if Stephen (sjl) gives his blessing, then the badge is good.

                  rjwolfe691,

Your perception is correct and the numerals are not impressed as standard but instead appear to be hand - jeweler engraved.

                  Regards,

                  John Pepera

It's hard to see but I think to see the swirls. So that means roto engraving.

                    Regards, Wim

                      Wim,

No. The so called swirles were only on the 30mm as a result of the tool used to engrave the numerals.

John is right - this is not rotograving. Rotograved badges have round beginnings and ends to the numbers from the tool. This is hand engraved with a sharp tool, and not impressed with the usual Fuess number die. It is period done, but unknown whether it is for replacement or extra badges, but that would be a good guess.
