            hi,
it is 1 and 13/16 inches wide and 1 and 1/14 inches tall, which when I converted was pretty close to 48 mm. so Im guessing it is a german postal service eagle cap. Thanks for the info

Hello Chris, definitely a Shirmmutzadler - Deutsche Reichspost (Feinzink versilbert) there not so easy to find and your Insignia should be worth around $60. From the pictures it appears to be a late War issue of zinc construction.
              Regards Martin

                Thanks Martin!

I had a cap eagle that I assumed was a postal service eagle but using your measurements, I found that its a Strassenbahn eagle!
                Thanks
