I ran across this today and am hoping someone can ID it. From the style of the eagle it looks like 30's. Maybe Stahlhelm?

This is a privately purchased patriotic badge worn by a man newly inducted to the military forces. It means fit for duty, and would have been purchased for wear on the lapel.

Thanks, Erich. I got the "able bodied", but didn't know how it related.

There are many variations of these--some with helmet designs, some listing Heer or Luftwaffe, etc. Because they were an optional, private purchase patriotic item, any design could be used--generally though without a swastika because of the law protecting the official symbol.
