    Hi

After following this thread, yesterday I contacted the dealer to bring his attention to the thread on the badge in question.

I have done this before with other dealers, as reputations are hard fought for and easily lost by comments from members and it is right that the dealer has a right to look at the situation rather than get a bad rep without any knowledge of the situation which is brewing.

You can gauge the man by the response you receive, and I was refreshed by his actions as he was swift in his response and eager to investigate it, as he would not want to be selling items that were under question.

The majority of dealers I have contacted are eager to hear these comments and rightly ask for your thoughts and take the matter very seriously. The ones that more of less tell you to 'go away' and are blinkered are the ones that I don't bother to contact again and rightly have a bad name.

The owner gets many items validated by Detlev before he puts them on his site which shows good intent to do the right thing, given Detlev's good name in the community. I am sure this costs him a great deal in time and money. There is no question that the COA's are from Detlev and to suggest otherwise would be unfair.

I have checked this morning and the GPB in question has been removed.

This is certainly not a case of a dealer being 'outed' but more of a professional and swift response to a query from a collector and he should be given credit for that.

I am not sticking up for the dealer or a member. All I am interested in is that the right thing is done.

    Raymond
