Herewith the rarer silver version.
I have no idea why these badges were issued. The first time I ever saw picture of one (the gold version) was in 1966 in "Purnell's History of the Second World War". They described it as being "Ex-Cavalryman's First World war Belt Buckle" which clearly it was not.

Are these faked?
What would one be expected to pay for the silver or gold version?
I am a bit of a fan of Mackensen, have some photos and such of him and these would be really cool to own.

Well, I've never seen a fake one and presume that they are not because they are not mainstream.
The Silver cost me €185 and the Gold €235, both from Weitze.
