Sorry - I would say bad. The silver borders on the front are too wide, but the clincher is the back. The oval pin plate with clipped ends is only seen on fakes, and the combination of RZM mark and GES GESCH without a number is widely considered to be fake as well. -

I got it from germania international. I'm surprised he has close ups of the clipped ends on his website if they indicate fake.
also, why would they fake these when there were millions of them made.Comment

I think to condemn this badge on the attachment plate and wide borders maybe a bet hasty, after all it is a transitional badge and varying widths can be found on these earlier badges also I looked though the database and found an example of a small oval attachment plate that closely resembles the one posted by Von. I did a side by side comparison with Von's and the original and you can see the differences when compared with a known fake attach plate. Just my opinion.
Von to answer your question as why repro these badges here's my take on the reason when one can by these repros for around 7 euros and with the right aging turn around a get $50 usd for them from new collectors that's answer enough.Comment

well, they said they'd take it back but simply said i'm wrong when i listed why it might be fake.
should i ask him if it's a transitional pin which is why there are no numbers even though it has rzm ges gesch? are they really always with numbers? i'm toally new at thisComment

If you keep it, YOU have to be happy with it. If there is any doubt in your mind, send it back & wait for a less controversial piece to come along, there are plenty of them out there.

Send it back and just get a bog standard one with no questions asked.

i agree with James that this is most likely a fine original...i also agree with Don that You have to be happy with it...that being said...this is a piece that will cause question for many collectors....because of the "transitional" nature of the piece....i would not reccommend this for your collection if you are a beginner or one that just wants a representative example for your collection....

I havent heard back anything from John about selling me badges as of yet. Sent him a few emails thus far.
Von Hoth I suggest you post pictures here and get some feed back from people before you even buy it. Look on epier and ebay even. Sometimes you can come accross a good piece if you do some research and post pictures up here. Ya might just get lucky.

I was looking at the Germania sight the other day and saw they had 380/40 (800)TK Skulls and M1/17 (800) eagles for 435 dollars. . .

Most of these are considered fake also, Is Germania just a bad sight or ??
I like their setup and they look reputable, but fake Party badges and fake SS sets makes you wonder??
