Not knowing much about these, why would something that appears gold, be stamped 900?
Or is it just the way the scanner or camera picked up the color?
And I cannot imagine this being real, just by the shape of the pin.
                thanks in advance

                  Roenk,
I concur with Peter, this piece is certainly not by Godet.
I have however seen that hinge/pin assembly before......I believe it was on a repro Star to the 1st or 2nd class of the Adlerorden.

Greg, you're right, the pin is the obvious give-away. But, this is the second time in a short period I see these oddly shaped heads. One of our members had a 4th class for rewiew and there were no comments as to the heads Is this type of design attributed to any specific firm that I'm not familiar with?
Btw, thank's for showing those lovely numbered badges

Hello, here is a picture of the eagles head of a 3rd class I used to own that had issues. The Ribbon was wrong and loop was not right. I think the eagles should look like this. Thanks, Mike

Quite right you are Peter about the heads on the eagle, they are certainly noteworthy, and I do recall the item you refer to.
I am unaware of this order being produced by any German firm other than Godet... but wonders never cease!
I attach 2 photos from a cased set I have, which shows a standard Godet eagle with his "hat", as well as the suspension ring on the neck badge with the silver content.
Hank, this is silver that has been gold plated, sometimes referred to as silver-gilt.

I'm no expert so don't take my words to serious
                            BUT...
IMO the "eagle heads"from post#1 do not look right at all

Looks like the eagle-head-feathers are blowin in the wind

                            Regards
