Very good Darrell, and thank you.
Sports badges never really tripped my trigger, but this particular one just "spoke to me"!

          2 DRAs no magnetics
          2 DRLs no magnetics...

Are you sure he didn't mean magnetics are rare?

Rolf ... I sent him two emails to confirm what he told me. Unless he misunderstood my English, he said that the "NON-magnetic" were more UN-common. According to everyting I have ever heard, as well as the surveys ... it appears to be the other way around

              Darrell,
It's quite possible that because your original question was about why a gold level Sports badge was magnetic and the other DRA's and L's in your collection were not and Carsten Baldes answer was that just the Gold badges were commonly made from a ferrous base-metal and that it would be rare to find one that was not magnetic.

Could be a misunderstanding Jamie. I deleted the emails between us

However, I'm sure I specifically eluded to DRA / DRLs in general ...

Oh well ... one trend appears to be developing ... so far, only Wernstein Jena's have been tagged as Magnetic.

I have a full set of DRL's with swastica - bronze, silver, gold and war wounded and all are non-magnetic.

I also have a set of DRA's - bronze, silver and gold and again, all non-magentic.

                          Regards ...
