Unique NS Runic Edda Wedding Tapestry

A fabulous and unique large wedding runic wedding tapestry (hand knotted like a carpet). A lot going on, symbolic story of a life journey, first letters of the couple's names,, their astrology signs, Tree of life, associated runes for life, death, the cycle of life and seasons, fertility, companionship, marriage, swastika sun and so forth, along with a saying from the Edda.

The Edda saying "Treu lebend, Tod-trotzend kämpfen, lachend sterben!" translated into English, "Live loyally, fight fearlessly, die smiling!" a script from the Edda.

Interestingly according to JW Baird (To Die for Germany: Heroes in the Nazi Pantheon") Dr. Goebbels had the motto sewn to the flag of Storm 33 of Berlin-Charlottenburg, in the early days of the NSDAP.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Truly incredible! You must tell us the story of how it was found or discovered and where it's been hiding all these years.

Already in the WW1 you found this motto/slogan - here on an postcard from 1915

But later it was the motto of the HJ (Hitlerjugend)

                          Hi Don,

It's an lovely piece for sure, but sorry, no story. I bought it a couple years ago from a seller in Germany, he had it stored 10 or so years after buying in a local sale.

Nice, but that quote is not to be found in the Edda.

Fun fact: All motifs on it are taken from the same book-series with patterns...
