Can you post an image showing how the shield is attached to the hand?
From these photos, I would have concerns. The statue appears to be poorly cast, with surface imperfections, inaccurate musculature, and a non matching (in materials and decorative style) swastika shield. It looks more like a cast brass piece from India or Pakistan than from Germany.
