Many thanks for your note, Thorsten -- I obviously never looked closely enough at the CB (since I have never owned one) and I appreciate your calling the presence of laurel leaves in the surround on that badge to my attention. But there is absolutely no doubt that the surround on the GPB -- both the Deschler and the Fuess-marked designs -- are oak leaves, not laurel.

I remember not too long ago there was another awesome desk eagle (identical piece maybe?) for sale on E-stand and whoever was fast enough to grab it made the deal of his life!

You have a good memory, I also remember that eagle, it was a scarce Johanne Pabst desk eagle and sold on E-Stand for about $275USD, -an absolute bargain, I wasn't fast enough either but at least we know that a fellow WAF member bought it which is great. Eddie posted a similar one recently from his amazing collection and I'm sure he wont mind me posting it again as it is a great example. Photo Courtesy Eddie!
