And when someone buys it sky high doesn´t mean the prices are getting higher in value for my view. Trends rise up and go down again and again on certain levels. We have seen also TK ring prices go high and are again quite low ... But the future will tell ...

But the question remains-who acquired this lovely piece of history?

Was it a Russian Oligarch, a Saudi Prince or just a good-looking Englishman

Are you suggesting that you're the good looking Englishman waving at us?

Yes. The only part I was lying about was being good-looking

With the initial furore which this piece caused, I decided to keep the fact that I had acquired it as part of a larger deal quiet and only ErichS knew.

Now that the thread has become more reasonable I will post photos of it.

By the way, I also consider the asking price to be too much and this badge stands me at far less than that. I consider it worth in the region of €10k, maybe a bit more.

I already have a 2nd-Pattern and, as BO collectors already know, the 1st-Pattern is the one to have.

hi guys,,just passing thru.. About 10 yrs ago I visited John Pepera with a friend. He was showing us some of his collection and I'm pretty sure he had a cased Coburg.. To be sure I called my travel buddy and he remembers the same.. Maybe that piece was Johns?

We really have no idea what this CB went for.

Weitze puts a price up and the badge disappears - who knows how the deal went and what the buyer actually paid. Unless he comes on here and shows the receipt it is pure speculation IMO.

I think the initial hoopla is more about big dealers screwing up the market with outlandish flash prices and giving the market a false impression, that is the first problem. The second problem is pairing a badge with a questionable box for purposes of a bump and therefore taking advantage of and end user.

That being said and now that we know the buyer is not unaware of the question and can swim on his own, the end user equation is out of the way. The deal price or structure is invisible, so what market see's and what market is are still two different animals. Congratulation's to the buyer and the badge is a beauty.

Well done Stan. Am I right to say that I think the UK has the most number of CBs in collectors hands as far as I know.
