[QUOTE=J. Wraith;6357507]I visioned you sitting there clutching your chest and regulating your breathing as you read " Cheap Tinnie ". You o.k?.

Or just a weekend weenie roast J?

Anyone want to venture a guess on what the silver and ruby badge would go for if for sale?

I forgot about the weenie roast comment, I hold different standards for my comments and that one was humor.

Looks like the the CB is now unobtainium. As what Erich said "Think the last 1st pattern sold for about 8500 Euros maybe 6 months ago." what a huge jump in price!

Did Craig. G. sell the box?

This is worrying I have only had good experiences with HW always helpful and patient, but this......... is he asking 8000 euros for a dodgey box ?
            Disturbing to say the least

It is a first issue no?
Yes guys, 1.50 RM was cheap, not for the men receiving it of course. I didn't mean it was a throw away party day badge, but an very inexpensive badge, now apparently worth 15000. Of course it's not a cheap award in the eyes of the party, of course. Keep your hats on.

Presumably, this particular one was owned by AH himself, the box itself must be worth about 7000.

I had a chance to buy one back in the 70's and passed. Even then they were not cheap for the day. I'm sure Steve Wolfe sold it pretty quick at that old Norwood show. Tom

Its a shame you let it go, was it a first or second pattern?

The Germans were and are still all about frugality and as we know, the original cost to make an award means nothing to its historical significance and importance to those who wore it proudly on their Brownshirts and tunics. As collectors, if take any of the items that we collect and break them down to their most common elements you find they really are not worth much on paper but it's their history which gives them their value.

Whether the box is original or not is speculation both ways. That being said I would not put any money into it either.

Every week I am amazed that one has to dig through several hundred items declared "updated", which Weitze has been offering for months or years without even adjusting the asking price.
