1935 Was A Good Year For DRV Races

The Deutscher Radfahrer-Verband (DRV), "German Cycling Association", was the cycling unit of the Nazi Sports Office.

Here are two medals (of sorts) for races in 1935, and one from 1933....

            Hi Ron,

Thanks for showing these. The 1933 is a new one to me and is good to see. I like that is has a ribbon in the old german imperial flag colours. I have another DRV medal on a ribbon with the same colours,. The ribbons were used on other medals as well as a sort of "general" ribbon i think. I have the same ribbon on a few older patriotic medals too, that originally were issued without ribbons.

I'll dig up mine later this week and post them too. Hopefully this may become a nice reference topic on DRV medals. I've been thinking for a while that at least some of the DRV medals were issued without any ribbons, and that this may be why we sometimes encounter them with the strangest ribboncombinations.

            best regards,
            Gaston
