    Need info on snare drum

I stumbled across this drum today and I'm tempted on purchasing it for my collection. I believe it is German and most likely pre-war. Its in good condition with the heads still intact. It has the eagle hanger with a crown. I just want to confirm that this is a genuine drum from that era and if its worth paying 300 USD. I just find it really interesting and I have 2 US base drums so it would fit perfectly in the collection. Thanks for all the help!

      Hello:
The lugs and the heads are not original, in my opinion.
Note how the hanger is attached through holes drilled in the rim. I have always seen a metal device mounted to the rim that has holes in it for the hanger (see the photos in the thread in the previous posting).
There are complete and un-messed with drums out there- I would not buy this one.

      Regards,
      Kent G.

        Compare the hardware to these:

I agree--this is not a military drum. This has metal bands vs. the wood with sheet metal skin, replaced tightening screws and snare tightener, and is missing the original suspension piece. Definitely pass on it!

              Hi,
I sold a all original one with hanger and the original drum sticks and brown leather pouch for them for half that price about 6 months ago.
