    EM Wehrmannschaften tunic shoulder boards

Heres the delima, on the SA wehrmannschaften tunic shoulder boards of enlisted men, were they sewn in the shoulder were the shelves come to the body of the tunic or were they the slip on type. Why I am asking, in the book, Collectors guide to Sturmabteilung Insignia, on page 142, there are two werhrmannschaften shoulder boards, one is a Luftwaffe, yellow piping around the edge of the boards(woolen) that are slip on; and the other, they look to be off a summer wehrmannschaften tunic, HBT cotton? white piping for infantry, but they are sewn in. I have seen off various websites, wehrmannschaften tunics, some with button attachments for shoulder boards, and some with no attachments for shoulder boards. The ones with the shoulderboards, look to be sewn in. Need some help on this.
