Does anyone know what this plate was celebrating in 1933 or is it just TR kitsch? It is made to be displayed on the wall, it measures about 10" across, and no maker's marks. The eagle is a little rough but I like the design around the edge. Thanks for your help.

For me it seems to be made in a local pottery only for local use.
Indeed the eagle is more than "a bit rough"

Gerdan, thanks for the reply. You're probably right, just a local item. I was trying not to be too harsh on the artist. BTW, I thought I had seen a plate like this either online or in a stein auction catalog, so I'm still searching.Comment
