Here's a cool PC from around the time of the Putsch showing Hitler and friends.

Picked this up from the shops on my way home today.

Very nice example of the design by H. Raebiger for the 12th anniversary of the Putsch in 1935 -- the one and only year the Putsch was commemorated in postage. Nice, too, that it was canceled; that gives the stamp a sense of history and character -- it was there, then. This is the larger denomination of the two stamps printed, the 12 Pfennig; the other one was in brown ink and carried 3 Pfg. An even nicer artifact would be one with a postmark telling us where it was mailed from, and exactly when. And even nicer still would be one of these stamps mailed/canceled on a souvenir post card of the Putsch published in 1935...and dated 11.9.1935!

While these two stamps are not rare, they obviously carry forward all of the emotions surrounding this solemn annual observance and march. A very nice artifact!

          James,

i was not aware that it came in two denominations.
I agree that the absolute best thing would be for that stamp to be on a souvenir post card and franked nicely.
Among several things that i bought, was this album of german stamps, some mint among all, very well kept and documented.

Nice one Jon, I looked for one at last years MAX and had no luck.

Yes indeed; very nice, Jon! These were probably sold as souvenirs at shops in and around the Odeonsplatz in Munich, but nowadays they are as scarce as hen's teeth...if not scarcer! I've never seen one for sale myself, but I'd sure love to have one...or more! Congrats,

Gentlemen , well you know my compulsive personality leads me to 'over collect' , sorry if this leaves the field a little dry for you
I have a green one also not in the pic. I think I am going to keep one of each and pass the rest over to WAF colleagues
The workmanship on these glass items is outstanding

This came from the postman today
I have been after one of these for a LONG time to make a pair.
The details on these are brilliant ,the Mahnmal one I got today is of a slightly better quality metal ,less aluminium and more nickel silver IMO.
Has the phrase on it as well, I know one member on WAF has one without and the plaque in Johnson's War Booty book is the same as mine with the phrase.... hope you all enjoy.
