Interesting to note that the author of the card which accompanied this plaque on behalf of Gauleiter of Bayreuth Fritz Wächtler -- Oberbereichsleiter August Greim, who was also Kreisleiter and Mayor of Coburg and an SA-Standartenführer -- was not a recipient of the Coburg Badge award!

It must have been a constant source of annoyance for Franz Schwede-Coburg, who was a former Oberbürgermeister of the city of Coburg, to hold the NSDAP position as Gauleiter of Pommern, while Fritz Wächtler was Gauleiter of Bayreuth, where the city of Coburg was located!

Coburg Plaque Count (1942 & Unknown)

Updated plaque count.

There are 2 known versions of Coburg plaques shown in this thread; 1941 and 1942. Below is my quick compilation of the known 1942 Coburg plaques based off my personal knowledge and after conducting a page by page search of the current 132 pages of this thread:

So that is 4 x 1942 plaques.

Coburg Badge pick-up at MAX

I always wanted an original Coburg Badge, but they are hard to find and usually out of my price range. I did manage to pick up this nice Coburg Badge stickpin at the MAX. Notice it has a "1" stamped on the reverse.

Thanks for sharing. I’m sure you would have done your research and your pin seems to be of a different variant that has been discussed. I would prefer a standard style, or the “straight blade” type. See post #1892 that I presented.

The last '41 plaque I saw went for $1,500+ and the boxed '42 plaque I just pictured from the MAX went for $2,500.
