But the close ups do show the quality for a supposed "special" award is terribly lacking. The attached sword, which would never have been done in constructing a badge like this as well as the unique (and never seen on another period badge) striped design under the enamel of the swaz really don't bolster the authenticity of the piece. Say what you will, unless either documentation or a period photo surface, this badge is pretty much toast as a period made piece. Nothing correlates positively to this being pre 1945 other than conjecture and speculation. There has, and is currently, nothing to prove this as original other than many people's desire to believe so.

The video proves nothing in terms of whether the piece is a pre or post 45 piece. It analyzes the construction methods of one badge based off a picture and does an excellent job at that but that is all...that in itself does not prove a thing. The video just adds to the speculation.

As I have discussed in this thread and others the badge "is what it is". Until further proof becomes available there will be those who believe and those who don't. Both sides will use what "evidence" is currently available or theories they can come up with to prove their point. And whatever those theories or evidential point are the other side will argue against them.

There might never be a picture of one found or period documentation. And, as I stated before, even if pictures are found there will be those that state they were photo shopped...and if documentation is found "authorizing" the creation of such an award then there will be those that state authorization does not necessary imply/constitute manufacturing.

There are some things in this hobby we will not know and will not be able to find the truth about. Look at the debate going on in the Luftwaffe badge section over the Gold LGAB, or the round pilot badge. Exactly the same basic arguments as in this debate.

This portion of the thread is like the 1920's philosophical debate of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Who is right and how do you prove one is right or wrong.

          Hello all,

Did anyone see any Coburg Badges or related items from the most recent SOS show this year in 2018?

I saw one Coburg badge for sale at the show, but then again I was not actively looking for one.

              Hello Gary,

Any idea who was selling it?
              Thanks, Gary.

I can not seem to recall who the dealer was. It was a 1st pattern badge I was chatting with"rkdek" about Coburg badges when we noticed it. If I recall who it was I will let you know.

Has anyone ever heard of an Ehrenmal created in Coburg?

So they turned the beer hall into a monument. This was the place where Hitler and the group from the train were directed after arriving in Coburg and from which the March started? Was the image you posted on the wall of the building. I think there was something more substantial involved.

There's absolutely nothing conclusive in this video.
If, for example, you look at the Bandenkampf with diamonds or the Bandenkampf with black sword you will look at top badges (1 and 10 made only!) made in a terrible way.
These badges are proven to be wartime at 100%.
Why cannot be the same for a Coburg badge?
Juncker made 10 special BKAs (in Buntmetall) and 1 with diamonds (in Silver), why the maker of the Coburg badge couldn't have done the same?

Be cautious guys, all what you see presented in a good way, is not always the truth. Truth must be searched in another way.

That's it. Thank you Herr Zimmer. I had the second photo but could not put it in context of what building. But this looks to be outside the city, not the beerhall where they assembled.

I see. It is in the Palace? The Veste Coburg? Thank you.

I saw the second photo in one of my police magazines and I thought a Coburg monument was built commemorating the 1922 March with the monument taking the sword from the badge. Did Hitler take his design for the sword in the Coburg badge from the WWI Ehrenmal in the Veste Coburg?
