NSDAP in Gold

Hi

I hope to get some info about this NSDAP pin on how it eventually turned into a gold color ?

It looks like the "gold" is under the surface of the black/red/white color

It also looks like the needle was replaced after the WW2 - What do you think?

this is not a gold party badge but the standard member's badge with a replaced pin
