    SA Musical Instrument????

Hello all, I need your help with this rare musical instrument that a friend has found. Could it be for a Marine SA Brigade?. If this is right what could be a fair value to buy it.

Thanks in advance for your help .

Interesting piece! I don't think it has to do with the Marine SA, as there would likely be an anchor design or other nautical theme present, but what it stands for I can't tell. It could be for some other SA branch (e.g. early Motor SA related) a Musik Schule (MS) logo, but I'm guessing. Also, there are a number of Glockenspiels /Lyra that hit the market perhaps 8 years ago--some were period, some were postwar, some civilian band, etc. So, it's difficult to tell when the insignia was applied--in 1930 or in 2000.

Shoot a pic over to Bill @ papersplease.com
He has had a few diff examples in his collection. He is also up to par on early SA instruments. I think he would be your best bet for a solid answer.

Loooks to be a Glockenspiel. Saw one at the MAX a few years ago that was at the SA Treffen in 1931.
