Very interesting Ron. I've seen these in bronze & silver, but the reverse showed only the SA Sports Badge with no prize level designation as yours does. I had assumed they were awarded in gold, silver & bronze for 1st, 2nd & 3rd class. I've never seen or heard of a 4th class like yours.
Also, the cases I've seen didn't have the SA runes. Please don't misunderstand. I don't doubt the authenticity of your piece and am submitting my observations purely to elicit more comments so we can learn more.
I will try to take some pictures of my cased one this weekend after I finish with my honey-do's.
