      This is daft
they are not silver they are silver plate
numbers when they appear on continental plated items is the amount of silver In the plate ie the thickness
there is no silver in the item
there is only silver on the item
if you don’t believe me just google silver plate
do you own any of these plated AH items???

The warming platters have copper in the base to keep food warm.

Regarding the eagle that starts this thread I am 100% in agreement with Mike and the others that states this as a fake. Even if you disregard the model (which I've never encountered) and the wrong makersmark, the eagle itself would be enough to judge it by. It looks engraved with no sharp edges or deepth that the roll stamping process results in. Also the eagle style is all wrong. Yes it looks like the same style at fast glance:it has a beak, swas and initials. But just as in any field of this subject, the differences can be clearly seen if you just put some effort into it and compare them to ie the images supplied by Mike.

Also if the proof of authenticity is claimed to be that the eagle appears on dealers sites. I would love to see an attached image of the identical bird on a dealers site, together with the name of this site. Also images of the bowl model from period photos would be great.

              best regards
              Alex
