Ok here we go.
there were at least 3 known makers of this award from period manufactures catalogues Godet being the best known .godet made very fine pieces and a lot are found nicely presented in a fine marked case..
now I have seen 2nd class in a case 100% original and marked to the pin .The case however is un marked
Now the problem lies here .William Deaumer and Otto Schickle ...These makers never made a marked case so .As most of these I would consider original are not marked and we cannot with a series of matching marked cases atrubite a design to a maker there is a lot of argument here.here is a L15 foe Deumer in a rare marked pin .Case is unmarked.
so as you can see by the picture it is not a match for the know 2.
Imo the item lacks detail and the ribbon (maby bad focus ) dosent seem to have the nice top curve in the weave I would like to see.
So at the moment without a 100% id on the otto Schicle I would stay away from it . regards Pete
