Excellent! Rare to see them with a German Panzer, even though obsolete.

I personally don't like this eagle, but it is really impossible to tell with officer's eagles. This example is totally missing the inner leaves on the wreath. Since recovered pattern templates always have the inner leaves this must have been made without one. Impossible ? No. There were really cheap ugly officer's insignia, but this omission is off putting to mes is the execution of the small feathers under the wings. It is also odd that the chest details are missing but the tinsel running through the wreath is wholly intact. This tinsel always wears off with use But that is only my opinion.

That sad these black backed insignia were also used by the fire department. I see these for sale as panzer to raise the price, but the fact is there were probably a 1000 fire officer's for ever one panzer assigned.

As a rule, Police sleeve eagles were embroidered on Grundtuch [basic cloth], i.e. the same color of the tunic. Berufs- and Frw.-Feuerwehren [fire dept] tunics were dark-blue not black. Mr Unland has knowledgeably commented on authenticity and embroidery details.
